Inventors and newlyweds, Macho and Lucia, live in a shoebox of an apartment in the ghetto of Hollywood. After several years of being down-on-their-luck, they finally sell one of their ideas to Goldstein and Associates. However, disaster strikes the company and the deal gets voided at the last minute. To top it all off, Macho’s parents call to say they will be coming into town. In attempt to impress them, Macho and Lucia rent a Beverly Hills mansion to pretend they’re rich. When they show up at the house they viewed online, former boy-band member, Bart Goldstein, agrees to let them rent it for the weekend. Then, to take advantage of the ‘show-off’ potential in this situation, Lucia invites her family too. The families show up and happily settle in, just in time for the real homeowner, Bart’s father, to walk in and be shocked by the sight of these strangers in his house. After the formal explanations are made to everyone and the lies are finally uncovered, it is revealed that Mr. Goldstein is from the company Goldstein and Associates, has lost everything and needs to sell the house. All the in-laws reveal they brought so many suitcases because they were planning on moving in forever. Legally-and unhappily-, they are all stuck in the house together, and they eventually unite to save the house.
