My overall impression

With a script of this caliber, you have a great launching point. This production took that and shot it into the stratosphere. Every performance from this cast of 4 was spot on, honest, interesting and compelling. There was no suspension of disbelief with the characters or relationships, it was pure belief, as these talented actors breathed beautiful life and honesty into each moment. The direction was crisp, and the on stage pacing kept things moving at a beautifully breakneck pace, where every tiny moment was well earned. The only spot that needs tuning to keep things rolling, not unsurprisingly for a first time director, are the transitions between scenes.

Already a powerful study of the balance between work, art, love and life, it was made even more poignant and unfortunately timely due to the recent loss of the photographer and fixer David Gilkey and Zabihullah Tamanna in Afghanistan.
