My overall impression

A defining piece of theater, giving its viewers the “inside story” on all things Richard Burton. Told through a series of stories as Burton celebrates his 46th birthday, the play was well written and well performed. The audience was involved in the story, as most of us were middle aged, and had grown up seeing Richard and Liz from a distance. It was great hearing about it from the other side. As usual, the venue (Theater of NOTE) was impeccable, and everyone on staff there is beyond professional, ensuring the audience has a remarkable time. It doesn’t hurt that the best shows I’ve seen thus far in the Fringe were all staged at the NOTE. If any venue could win an award for excellence, NOTE should be at the top of the list. Even after the Fringe is over, I am sure I will be returning to the NOTE for more theater.
