“For some people, being startled is the only way they get any sort of feeling at all.” For high society siblings Mason and Madeline, life is a carousing feast, full of painting, people watching, poetry, sailing, literary criticism, and whiskey sours. A routine wedding party in the scorching Virginia summer heat takes a drastic turn when a sensitive debate goes too far, and the pair is forced to examine big questions about what lies ahead. The party is in full swing as the ice sculptures melt, and life is anything but ordinary.
