I brought my friend to watch the show and she loved it. She laughed and there was never a dull moment for either of us watching the show. This is a very different view for Shakespeare but it fit and it was an amazing cast and story. Taming Of The Shrew- An exploration of Gender Expression is definetly worth watching. ... full review

Very entertaining and fun group of actors! They pick a few people out of the audience to participate, so be prepared to perform Shakespeare right out of your seat. A barrel of laughs! ... full review

Yes yes yes. Authentic Shakespeare theatre with a U Shape audience and cast performing in the aisles. Boys playing girls and girls playing boys - Shakespeare again. Adlib sarcasm and over the top characters. Audience integration ... This is it; this yes what is supposed to be. Just fantastic.... full review

The clothes make the man...right? Not in Queer Classics Padua they don't. In the world of the play, clothes are superfluous things that are donned, shed and traded with impunity. In this production clothing is simply a stand-in for the social construct of gender. When what we choose to cloak ourselves in is secondary to who we are, we are forced to reveal our character through our choices, our actions. Character as a quality is revealed through physical choices, vocal quality, and how and when the characters exercise their agency. It's a testament to the strong acting and direction that all the characters onstage were simply who they were by their actions. They could have done this production stark naked, or clad head to toe in bu... full review

I don't have enough good things to say about this show. It was so moving in all the best ways! I found myself captivated by the characters and concept, and just a puddle of a weeping mess but the end. Thank you for going there, Queer Classics!... full review

The adaptation, by Mike Wamser and Casey Kringlen, is an edited but essentially faithful production of the play, minus the Christopher Sly framing device. Kringlen, who also directs, conceives the play as a comic romp in the style of I Love Lucy. As both Lucy and Shrew are highly physical farces which send up masculine/feminine conventions, this seems a strong, though not surprising, choice. Where Kringlen gets transgressive is in the gender-bending casting of the roles. Full review at "original article."... full review

Such a brilliant show! A beautiful expression of gender identity and sexuality. The actors were all phenomenal and had great comedic timing. The director took great care adapting the script and not cutting into the original script too much. A great experience!... full review
