A consummate showman himself, Todd displays a vast array of talents here. He sings (of course), does impressions (including Al Jolson and George Burns) and projects an easy charisma with his depiction of Darin.... full review

THE LEGEND OF BOBBY DARIN: AN UNAUTHORIZED AUTOBIOGRAPGHY (Platinum Medal) At first glance Cliff Todd comes across as the quiet, unassuming sort. Hardly the guy you’d think of in connection with Bobby Darin, the brash crooner of “Splish Splash” and “Mack the Knife” fame, who died tragically young at 37. Todd captures Darin’s singing style and mannerisms perfectly, and under Miles Chapman’s adroit direction, the transformation is stunning. Funny, engaging and powerful, "The Legend of Bobby Darin: An Unauthorized Biography," is a fast paced show that leaves you wanting more. Cliff Todd is absolutely captivating. Listening to him sing is like listening to a record of Bobby Darin himself. The performance is effortless, soulful and nuanced. The story is written brilliantly and the direction keeps the show moving forward like a freight train. It is stunning example of what theatre is meant to do- leave you thinking long after the show has ended. ... full review

This excellent show displays both the gifts of the actor-performer Cliff Todd and the director, Miles Chapman. In a miraculously tight and bracing hour, we experience the life, personality and talents of Bobby Darin, whose musical career straddled 1950s rock 'n roll, 1960s pop, early 1970s contemplative pop and standards from earlier decades. Todd is both a gifted vocalist and actor and the taut script grips us with its frankness and humor and never lets go. Well worth seeing!... full review
