My overall impression

Wade Skalsky is a lawyer from Santa Clarita by way of North Dakota and Arizona. He’s not actor, but through his one-man show, Fish Out of Whiskey, Wade reveals himself to be an engaging and very entertaining storyteller. Normally I steer clear of one-person shows, especially autobiographical ones (nothing personal – they’re just not my cup of tea), but I’d met Wade at a fundraiser for another Fringe show a few months ago and found him to be a sincere, genuine person with an engaging and friendly personality, and the exuberance he displayed for his both his show and being a part of the Fringe won me over. Walking in, I hoped that exuberance would transfer to the stage. I was not disappointed. Wade’s story – in which he shares the moments in his life he feels defined him and shaped him into the person he is today – is clever and well-crafted, chock-full of warmth and charm, and definitely worth checking out. Bravo!
