Reminiscent to Reservoir Dogs in style and spirit, Zip Ties is a solid work-in-progress. I enjoyed myself, and appreciated the production value (exploding squibs aren't something you see on stage every day, especially executed so flawlessly!), but I was a little disappointed that some of the performances seemed incongruous with the nature of the script. Choices that were loud, brash and larger-than-life seemed to go against the vibe of the dialogue and robbed the production of real menace and intensity. However, it's still a fun romp, and worth checking out. I'm looking forward to seeing how this show develops in the future!... full review

Benjamin Schwartz has created a bitingly funny, Tarantinoesque (is that even a word?) comedy brought to life on an intimate stage. Set in a seedy hotel room, it’s cast of characters create a palpable tension while not missing a dark comedic beat in its fast-paced escalation toward the unexpected ending. On one hand, snappy dialogue and wit abound; on the other terror and violence. I as an audience member was grateful to emerge not covered with blood. Zip Ties is so well written, directed and performed - Kudos! See it!... full review

Zip Ties is a funny, multi-level, tightly composed little gem of Kafka-esqe drama. Like mixing a deadpan gangster bleak of Guy Ritchie with the chaotic farce of Dario Fo, the play manages to unfold the tale as only the best short stories do: well-drawn, graphic novel characters, spitting snappy, rapid-fire dialogue, delivered with perfect timing in a nicely twisted plot. Perfect chemistry of acting and direction serve the writer well and the last 10 minutes is a wonder of choreographed excitement. Oh you dirty rats!... full review

ZIP TIES is a delightful and delicious hour of dark comedy. If you enjoyed Tarantino's RESERVOIR DOGS, this is the show for you. Great script and excellent cast.... full review

Yo Benjamin, take a bow! Zip Ties had me on the edge of my seat! What an emotional roller coaster, first comes the dark humor, then add suspense, then it gets "mighty real" when the "tools" start coming out, OUCH!!! What a surprise ending! Who Knew? Guys, you won't want to miss this one! Great intimate theatre too, really works, user-friendly should you need to grab hands at the scary parts, Ha ha! Thanks BS AS... full review

I kept waiting for a plot twist that never came, which is the only thing that kept my attention. Change the ending, cinch up the direction, reveal SOMETHING to your audience, and make at least one of the characters interesting or likable and you've got a good show. The set, special effects, dialogue and character interaction was great, but there was little to support it.... full review
