I'll preface this by saying that a) I tend to not be a fan of one person shows, and b)I also (my own opinion only) tend to be critical of plays where the writer performs the lead in the show they wrote. That said, The Last Known Recording of the Lenore Sisters completely tosses those criticisms aside because I can't imagine a more fiercely talented actress than Jennifer Kenyon, who played all three roles to perfection (and yes, wrote the play, and composed the music). Laugh out loud funny, poignant, and yes, I found myself crying my eyes out as well. In this highly entertaining story that weaves mystery, strained relationships, the bond between sisters, and more -- this is a must-see play during this year's Fringe. This was 45 minutes of charm, wit and delightful understatement. The piece is written and performed by Jennifer Kenyon, whose aptitude for subtle characterizations (as she slips effortlessly between triplet sisters) is extremely pleasurable. She and director Amanda Weir created the lovely atmosphere of a bygone era, and delicately dark undertones bobbed beneath the quippy one-liners and nostalgic anecdotes. What stuck out to me the most in this 50 minute show, was how effortlessly Jennifer Kenyon moves between playing all three sisters. Each sister had a different voice and different mannerisms. I would love to hear more of the murder story during the show and perhaps some more background on the sisters and Oscar. But definitely a charming show in this year's festival.... full review

Ms Kenyon is able to masterfully inhabit three characters in the ruse of telling a murder mystery. But all I want to know about are the flapper triplets. Especially the socialist!... full review

THE LAST KNOWN RECORDING OF THE LOVELY LENORE SISTERS A murder mystery involving a 40’s singing trio consisting of three sisters. Think Raymond Chandler meets the Andrew Sisters. Written and performed by Jennifer Kenyon with Amanda Weier directing, the show is tight and entertaining. But it is Kenyon’s performance as the three sisters that is the main reason not to miss this one, as she flows seamlessly between the siblings sisters as they relate the events that lead to their manager plunging out of a hotel window and the end of their career.
