One never knows what to expect from a one-man show. This one does not disappoint. He was funny, intelligent, heart-wrenching at moments, and played to his audience (even those who tried to participate - not letting them phase him and responding in a way that tied right back into the performance). I never thought I'd laugh about topics that are so serious - he really has a great handle on the show and on his audience.... full review

Charles Marina is an ever expanding bubble of personality. He is so engaging with the audience that I felt like I could talk to him, or get up and hug him during the show and it would have been just fine. (I didn't BTW) But him being engaging is important with this show. He talks about growing up in Lebanon and surviving not 1, not 2, but 3 DIFFERENT WARS. As an American who grew up in the suburbs I never felt so lucky. His performance uses humor and reverence to talk about all these things that happened to him, and as an audience member we see its ok to laugh because he is right there with us. Story and performance wise this is one of the best solo shows at the 2015 Fringe Festival. ... full review

Proof that hanging around a sold-out show sometimes works out. I am very happy that I was able to squeeze into a preview for the charming "33". One performer shares with us the highlights of a rather interesting life. Engaged throughout I must admit I'm curious about the bits that were undoubtedly cut for time or pacing. Charles Marina opts for a storytelling, approach aware of and connected to his audience. Rather than break the 4th wall, he simply dispenses with it altogether, the right choice, particularly for the level of intimacy reached by a few of his stories. Fun and funny, with some surprisingly touching moments, I'm glad I spent an hour getting to know Charlie. ... full review

Charles Marina's one man show was a fascinating & hilarious look into a war-torn childhood. Filled w/ wonderfully narrated anecdotes, Charles brings his past to life. Highly recommend. ... full review

Charles Marina - how did you find a way to make me laugh about war? And not just 1 war - 3 wars! This is one of the most powerful and fascinating solo-shows I've ever seen - with moments of divine comedy. Charles' has incredible comedic timing that is paired with energy and passion that are captivating. And then, the end....so profound, truly moving...even motivating! Kudos, Charles!... full review
