My overall impression
A Slice of Heaven! This is what Cyanne McClairian introduces us to in her fascinating one-woman show. You’ll have the opportunity to meet, and make not only her acquaintance, but also those of numerous other characters, living and dead, including the heavenly spirits of Sir Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh. The play is based on McClairian’s actual real life event of a near death experience she lived through as a young woman. (FYI: She’s STILL a young woman.) This occurred while she was on the operating table having surgery to repair a congenital heart defect. The Heaven she inhabited for a brief period of time is not only characterized by stunning beauty, love, compassion, and wisdom; but is also a challenging arena – prodding us to face our struggles and suffering with courage, strength, determination, and virtue. And yes, there is a plan, and (dare I say it?) an intelligent Creator behind everything. McClairian’s performance challenges the audience to ponder nothing less than the very meaning of life itself, encouraging us to consider the potential benefits that can be realized through our own life struggles and suffering. Is there any issue more important to every individual in the world? Highly recommend!
