What I liked
The story follows Samantha Strong, a friendly local bear running a hardware store in a sleepy animal town. She is a meticulous serial killer who keeps her business out of her hometown. The plot kicks into high gear when a copycat murderer commits a gruesome crime right in her town, forcing her into a twisted game of cat-and-mouse to protect her territory. openskycc com sign in
What I didn't like
Compelling Character Work: Samantha isn’t written to be a classic hero you root for; instead, she is a chillingly realistic, cold predator who treats murder like a weekend hobby. Her ability to compartmentalize her life is fascinating to watch.
My overall impression
Brilliant Visual Contrast: The biggest selling point is the artwork. It is drawn in a pastel, soft, sketch-like style that looks exactly like a wholesome, vintage children’s book (think Winnie the Pooh or Richard Scarry). The deliberate contrast between this cute aesthetic and the graphic, bloody murders makes the horror hit twice as hard.
