About the Project
GUNS is a dark, funny, difficult, uproarious cabaret/concert that takes on the issue that this country is both addicted to and identified with– weapons that kill instantly. The songs are all original by graduates of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. The material covers every aspect of our country’s relationship to the weapons that identify our violent core. The piece is extremely funny, very scary, and at times tragic. The performers passionate about expressing what guns do in this country and in other countries. The piece is very rock and roll but introduces original forms as well as electronic beats and therefore falls in between the cracks of musical theatre and rock concert.
