Bye Bye Bombay is a multimedia adventure featuring music, puppets, slide shows, and characters (all played by Cara Yeates) ranging from a young girl seeking to connect with her mother through her mother's Bollywood film past to Bollywood producers, shop owners and those in between. The story and performance beautifully touch upon a full range of personal and societal issues such as alienation and feelings of personal powerlessness but ultimately it teaches us the power of compassion and inter-connectivity. While a thoroughly engaging and fast paced performance, the power lies in the subtlety of the message. Cara took me on a trip to a world I know very little about and she wowed me! She dances and weaves in and out of images that have peirced my brain forever! She made me laugh and cry with her beautiful story and left me wanting more! That is what a great show is all about! If you get a chance see it! ... full review

This is a wonderful journey in the Mysterious Land of Silk and Spice-- Bombay, India. It's a gripping story of a teenage runaway trying to run from her past and reconcile with her mother, but is taught something about the world by her experiences. Ms. Yeates transports us with video, detailed characterizations and her luring charm. It's funny, captivating and touching. Buy a ticket for this adventure and you'll see what I mean. ... full review
