“ka te tui” performance was presented at the “GOGOLFEST” festival (Kiev, UA) in autumn of 2013. Choreography of the performance includes the elaborate combination of early traditional Dell Arte features, vanguarde butoh and the perfect-formed parametric architecture of XX-th century.
Body is being despaired by passive staying out of wastly builded up cities all around it. It wants the ability to have an influence on the architecture, since it had been inspiring it upon a time. “Ke te t’ui” is a resonance point amongst all the nonsenses. It is a conception which grows up from self-destructive conceptions, so the result is an absurd. Grotesque which craves for destroing of absolete world and for creating tragic utopia. “Ka te t’ui” has no translation. It has a space that comes beyond any language. As though the reality itself never exists.
PoemaTheatre is a theatre and dance company, which was founded in 2009 in St. Petersburg. As a starting point was a principle of the "types of existence " and the team went through a rather difficult evolution of their ideas until now.
At this moment based upon the ever changing and at fresh emerging philosophy PoemaTheatre creates a totally new language not only in the movement art but in the way of thinking all together.
The first blast of new ideas has happened on December 5th of 2009 after the action “Wheel Tango” at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, which was the foundation of the company. Since then the company was performing at the various venues in St.Petersburg and Moscow.
In Moscow the company became well known after the performance “Dump”, which was performed during the opening of the festival “Territoriya 2012” and the large scale action with around 100 performers “Out of the forest” which was organized during the festival “Archstoyanye 2013”.
In Berlin the company collaborated with Yuko Kaseki (Japan) creating the project “Where the diamond sleeps”.
In the Netherlands PoemaTheatre has established an ongoing collaboration with the nomadic artistic initiative “Re-United Now-Where” creating several pieces, which were performed at the various venues in Amsterdam and in the Mazasis Teatras in Vilnius.
Together with the dancer Flavia Ghisalberti (Switzerland) was founded creative education program “Butoh village”.
In Athens PoemaTheatre has initiated a research and workshop to investigate " forgotten body mythology". Once established it’s method as “semiotics of the human body” the company is also interested in one of the most actual discourses " speculative realism" which refuses relation between the mind/reason and being by taking the centre of attention beyond these two points of view.
In Colombia the fusion of poetry and dance occurred during the festival “Festival de poesia de Medellin”. In Paris was researched the possibility of redefining the main concept of research of bodily styles up to the global reconfiguring the basis of movement art generated by the body in the time based art. An innovative idea to create an Institute of investigation of Movement Art was born in Paris as well.
During the festival “Gogol Fest” in Kiev the company has created an opening performance “Ka te t’ui” together with the participants of the workshops and currently is working creating a new piece “La Porte D’or” for the closing of the festival.
PoemaTheatre is not working with any certain style but rather combining various disciplines. The core of the team is the same for the last 4 years: Art director Valentin Tszin, choreographer Evgeniya Chetverkova, visual artist Vladimir Ermachenkov.
At the moment the company is collaborating with around 100 dancers (including students/participants of the workshops) from various countries. The company also works with various teachers, choreographers and partners including Ko Murobushi (JP), Masaki Iwana (JP/FR), Carlotta Ikeda (JP/FR), Flavia Ghisalberti (CH), Taketeru Kudo (JP), Yuko Kaseki (JP/DE), Ken Mai (JP/FI), Migui Mandalasol (ES), Alex Ruhe (USA), Sainkho Namchylak (AU) among others.
