My overall impression
I’m going to be honest and say that one person shows are a tough sell for me – I am one of those people who almost always needs interplay in order to be really engaged. That being said, “The Mermaid Who Learned How to Fly” is EXCELLENT. I really, really enjoyed it. The characterizations are exceptional – I think part of the reason I enjoyed this show so much is that I honestly felt like I was watching a multi-person cast. Kyla Garcia is a truly talented actress. If you’re already a fan of solo shows, seeing this one should be a no-brainer. If you’re like me and you don’t typically gravitate towards them, do yourself a favor and check this one out.
