My overall impression
It’s kind of embarrassing to admit, but I went into this double feature having near seen either of the films they were spoofing. I only mention this because, even as an outsider not privy to all the inside jokes, this show is HILARIOUS! Tom Detrinis as Betsy the monkey is comic genius! His Blanche De Bois primate starlet is pure gold. JP Karliak is strong, funny, a born star. Chaz Bono has great stage presence and a believable authority as the President. Thomas Hobson does a spot on spoof of Will Smith. Julianne Dowler is a fully committed dog. Everyone in the show has great comic timing and is 110% committed to what they are doing, with great voices, full on energy — there’s not a weak link up there on stage. They all shine completely.
