Man’s Dominion asks us to reflect on the staggering question of liberty, and what it means to “have a right”. Expertly written and unapologetic, it is easy to see why alert audience members may find themselves derailed of sturdy opinions, as we are guided through the perspective of many characters fixated on deciphering their own answer to the question. The lynching of an elephant may seem grandiose and impersonal to us at first, but the heart of this play is relevant and mind-bending. The lingering effects of the power of choice and results of action resound through ourselves are we are left sympathetic and dually horrified at the many faces of humanity.
