SHUFFLE ALONG is a tour de force. Arthur L. Ross is a true triple threat in every sense of the term. Not only will you go on a journey of the black performer's history in musical theatre, but you'll hear Arthur master the art of singing. From early 20th century to today, he embodies the style and sound of each period seamlessly. Arthur covers a wide range not only vocally, but with his honed acting skills - taking you through everything from tears to laughter. Perfect costume additions, impressive onstage makeup transformations, snazzy choreography, and live accompaniment by Bradley Scott Hampton combines with Calvin Remsburg's brilliant direction. The historical visuals were just the icing on the cake. I definitely learned a thing or...

Shuffle Along is an incredibly informative, immensely entertaining one man show about the history of blacks in Musical Theater and Hollywood. Arthur Ross is a force to be reckoned with. He is a triple threat in the truest sense of the term. His vocals are powerful when they need to be, but heart-achingly sweet in the very next moment. He knows just how to carry himself in each piece to portray each new persona he is taking on. I completely followed him along his journey through time thanks, in part to the sparse costume pieces, but owing mostly to his ability to so completely inhabit each time period and character so fully. Do NOT miss the opportunity to experience this show, and this performer, in this intimate medium while it is still avai...

This was a magnificent performance by Arthur. To be taken on a most magical journey through the years of black revues-the words do not come easy. It was a powerful performance by an actor well aware of his instrument and how to bring his audience into his world. The history of black musicals or theatre for that matter is not often told & Arthur does it with love, knowledge, skill and passion. It is above & beyond-A must see!...
