Black Virgins are Not for Hipsters is a dramatic comedy about Echo’s search for love in post-racial-Obama-is-president-America. Thanks to OkCupid, the rise of interracial dating, and the overpopulation of liberal hipster men in the Bay Area, it appears Echo is close to finding a suitable life partner. With each successful date, Echo karate chops statistics and reports that degrade the desirability of black women.
But when America’s racial demons rise once again from the abyss and stop her dead in her tracks with phrases like, “You’re a really awesome person, but I just can’t see myself with someone like you,” Echo has no choice but to ask some hard questions about love and race in this new age of “colorblindness.”
