Richard Tanner's SMALL PARTS was a hoot from beginning to end. He gave us the highs and lows of his working actor life without pulling any punches. Very entertaining show!... full review

Terrific performer with a compelling, funny, touching script. Of course, I wondered if a show about show business would be refreshing. It is. Very. I'd seen Tanner's previous incarnation of this show, which has a longer format. Both make for a very entertaining evening. I look forward to seeing it again!... full review

I saw Richard Tanner's 'Small Parts' and loved it! Richard is a very funny, clever artist and I would love to see anything else he has created. This was an evening anyone, actor or non, would enjoy. All I ask for is MORE!... full review

Such a funny and honest show. Self aware and intuitive Richard put it all on the table and had the audience cheering for him and feeling for him as shared all the frustrations, successes and heartbreaks of working in the soul crushing entertainment industry. I cannot say enough, how well put together this show was, which is something that is rare in the fringe. You're missing out if you don't go see this.... full review

"Small Parts" was 'love at first gesture'. Richard Tanner grabbed the audience instantly and never let us go. And what a beautiful bond it was! I haven't laughed so continuously in years. But this laughter always took me to the right place! To understanding? Yes. To forgiveness of those who have cut your heart out of your chest - thrown it away , then walked away? Yes. Tenderness that heals those little sores that have been there it seems from the beginning? Yes again. I will never forget Richard's recollection of a conversation with his father in a boat. Or was it a conversation at all? No, it was a gateway to everything - the rabbit hole that led Richard to the unthinkable - the life of an actor that has resembled the lives of millions: a ... full review

Small PARTS was performed by a BIG actor! Excellent writing, direction, pacing, timing, lighting and story. This play is a moving and highly entertaining portrayal of an actor's endurance through years of personal sacrifice and longing for artistic recognition, or even just to make a good living. Richard Tanner gives a voice to the countless thousands of unheralded artists who have sacrificed so much and wondered why. His humor, tenacity, desire and passion creates a compelling and relatable tale of never giving up on the dream, indignities be damned. I think he's made it, after all!!... full review

Richard Tanner has created a microcosm of a show which any creative person can relate to. You don't have to be an actor to see yourself in his challenges and triumphs. And speaking of triumphs. I got an email from a friend whose judgment I trust and she said this was the best show in the entire Fringe Festival. She was right in my opinion as well. Hilarious, daring, intelligent, relatable and moving on many levels...even instructive and inspiring. This was a triumph for him. I hope he experiences it as such. ... full review

A very touching portrait of the travails experienced by all actors, even the ones who become greatly successful (before they make it big). A real insider's view into what show business is really about, and highly recommended.... full review

Possibly the greatest and funniest one man show I have ever seen!! Richard literally made the audience squeal with laughter. There wasn't a SINGLE slow moving or dull moment, with laughs piled on top of other laughs. There was SO MUCH going on, it easily held everyone's attention for the entire length of the show. I was actually SAD when it was over. Everyone can relate to Richard's journey and the relationship with his parents which was beyond touching. Afterwards, the audience stayed in the lobby, gushing to one another how much they enjoyed the show. Added bonus was the "Worst Head Shot" contest, and Richard gave away buttons and coasters afterwards that were hilarious. Overall it was one of the best evenings I've had!!... full review ... full review
