Rachel Germaine is a tour de force in this one woman show. She takes you on a journey through her life and shows you what it was to grow up in Long Island as part of a loving dysfunctional family. This play is as poignant as it is entertaining. Rachel delivers a knock out blow for the Germaine clan in this incredibly honest piece.... full review

From the second the lights go down and the audience is treated to an early 90's hip-hop dance routine that looks like it came straight out of an elementary school talent show, Germaine really takes you back to the good ol' days. It's a funny and sometimes touching look at growing up in a tough Long Island clan with three brothers. This is a great show to see with your siblings - no matter if you were the victim or the perpetrator growing up. The energy is great, the show is a lot of fun, and the lead is easy on the eyes. She perfectly captures the nostalgia of all of us who grew up too late for Gen X and too soon to be Millenials. Definitely check it out and be prepared to have a good time!... full review

A beautiful, relatable touching trip back to 90's childhood. Super funny and entertaining but also a very moving look at family -- the good, the bad and the ugly. Rachel Germaine brings the show alive with great energy from the opening dance number all the way to the final tear-jerking moments. Highly highly recommended. ... full review

True to its title everything in "Germaine" is vital and relevant and nothing superfluous or self-indulgent. A one-woman show about family, it finds room to memorialize an historical time and place and follow the twists and turns of relationships in transition. With humor, originality and energy it explores love, the longing to belong, and the surprising ways life sometimes fulfills one's expectations.... full review

"Germaine" is certainly a stand-out for me, and thus far my favorite show at the Fringe. Rachel Germaine's near-universal story of sibling rivalry still manages to stay unique and dramatically interesting, taking all the right twists at all the right times. The audience was captivated. Rachel is an incredible storyteller and, though her style was a bit more improvisatory and stand-up-y than I would have liked for this setting, she does it in her own way, and you can't help but respect her choices and ability. (sidebar: she's also a total smokeshow, and watching her read the classifieds for an hour would be time well spent). Recommended! ... full review

It felt like we were really in Rachel's shoes and born into a whole different family history. It was so much fun to laugh WITH her during her stories. This show starts with a bang and the pacing is great. She really is comfortable with the audience and does not have that weird deer-in-headlights feeling I usually see in solo work. It really feels like we are all just chilling over a beer and sharing a story but then all of a sudden she is 10 and we're in her childhood home and then she takes us deeper with a flip of a song, slide or light cue and we are right there being looked at by her mother, brother or seeing her moment of truth she'd been waiting for her entire childhood (which flooded me with memories of my own story and reminded me o... full review
