My overall impression

A very entertaining show filled with lots of good songs. This show is a one man show about Anthony Newley (Google him). I remember him just a little bit growing up (he was a regular on variety shows) and knew him mostly from his singing style (which I remembered as being a little irritating) and from being in the movie “Doctor Dolittle” – the Rex Harrison version. This show covers his life from being a kid in London to his death in 1999. After seeing this show I feel like I have met the guy. Jon Peterson really captures Anthony Newley’s style of singing but he is able to make it even more pleasant. The way the story is weaved in with the lyrics of the songs is very well done. The music is played live by the musical director, Joshua Kranz and really helps keep the show flowing.
If you want to see a great one man show or just want to learn more about Anthony Newley (spoiler alert – he co-wrote the music for “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” – the Gene Wilder version) than this is a show to see.

ORANGUTAN

ORANGUTAN is a haunting and absurd one-woman show about the mother of a brutish (slightly orange) would-be dictator, and the tribalism that’s tearing our country apart.

A Solo Show with Jokes...and Espionage

Saurabh Kikani was the nerdiest, most awkward teen in the world. In 1996, he was in a summer program at Oxford where he happened to see the movie Mission:Impossible, and his life changed forever. This is a solo show with jokes...and espionage.
