My overall impression

I really enjoyed God of Abraham, mostly for the integrity and talent of the performers. You’re clearly in good hands with these five, so the zaniness and intensity of the journey you’re on with them feels intriguing rather than obnoxious, as more experimental pieces can sometimes become. GOA is definitely avant-garde, but truly engaging throughout, and it makes its rather provocative point in a number of memorable ways that I continued to think about for the hours afterwards. I don’t know that I ultimately agree with the message of God of Abraham, but I appreciated that the message was there, and delivered so gracefully. GOA is a bold, farcical and at times uproariously funny little piece, that was courageous and committed and used a surprisingly diverse set of theatrical tools that continued to surprise and engage me. And they have the best program in the festival. Much love to these talented peeps. Check it their bold work.
