My overall impression
This is a wildly funny, entertaining and moving solo show. Using the framework of a boxing match, Ms. Schachner takes the audience through her crazy childhood in suburban Ohio, centering around her parents’ separation and the “Schacnher vs. Schachner” of the title. But at a deeper level, it’s a battle between her present self and the confusing, contradictory childhood memories that continue to haunt her. Engaging multimedia keep the show lively and full of surprises. This show is a winner! I hope it keeps evolving! Best thing I’ve seen at The Fringe this year.
