My overall impression

Inspired, glorious clowning — Flying through air with the greatest of unease on a wish and a balloon, the gently pompous Beau (David Cantor) and indomitable Aero (Amica Hunter) blend the gentle sweetness of Laurel & Hardy with a romantic tension like Tracy and Hepburn. All in silence. Keeping it elegantly simple (take that, Cirque du Spectacle), they mock, mug and mope with non-stop energy and invention, making us almost believe they — and we — really can fly. Flap your arms, laugh, cheer, cry a little, and fall utterly in love. You’ll be so very, very glad you did. Beau & Aero brings back a millennia-old tradition from the edge of obscurity, and shows us why people love clowns (even I, who almost never have).
