My overall impression
Coming into the show, I had heard so much about Gen Me, yet I was still not prepared for what I experienced. The amazing cast of talented teens and young adults carry the superbly written music and book wonderfully, giving the audience the experience of a lifetime. It is such a deep play, rich with humor and so much raw emotion. It deals heavily with very serious topics that I believe are so necessary in addressing in today’s society, especially to our youth, and portrays them in such an honest, realistic way that you really leave the show pondering bigger issues in life than what you’re going to buy at Starbucks on the way home. It gives viewers a renewed sense of how to live life and how your actions affect others. Come prepared to laugh, cry, and really think. I highly recommend this show to anyone who has ever eaten anything. It’s fantastic.
