The hype for the "best teen show of Hollywood Fringe" was such a push that it felt like it was my duty to stop by the Hudson theater on my bland Friday night. The opening number "Monday Mourning" catches you with an edgy grasp as school-ready teens explain how their Monday is the worst, with problems with friends, parents, beauty, and other well known teen issues. it takes an unimaginable turn as our star, Milo Reynolds, is having the worst Monday of all. His last and final words, "What am I doing here?" is mumbled as he slips a belt over his neck. Only three minutes into this show, the emotional build up is such that I already felt like crying. I was held aback as all I wanted to do was run on stage and tell him not to do this. I wa... full review

Generation Me is hugely entertaining and deeply moving. Liam O'Donnell is cast as the troubled Milo, and brilliantly delivers the emotional journey leading up to his tragic decision. It is a young, but highly talented cast. The stunning Kayla Wood (as Milo's estranged girlfriend Kaylee Summers), John Novotny (Cody) and Madison Judd (Harper) bear the consequences of Milo's suicide and captivate with beautiful vocals and strong performances. This is a compelling story boldly written, directed, and scored. A thoroughly thoughtful and beautiful production.... full review

u/EllenDostal just posted a totally accurate review. This show is so genuine you get completely immersed in the story and these peoples' lives. Not these characters' lives. These people, these teenagers, live on stage. It's gold. It's precious. It's perfect theatre. Everyone up there is totally natural comfortable, and just nailing these songs, scenes, and dance numbers. I was like, where did these guys come from? Answer: Flying Monkey Productions in Sacramento. I was not prepared for this. I am not crying, ignore the painful swelling around my eyes. I identified with every single one of these characters--knew them even, in the people I had the pleasure of seeing every day for the last 4+ years. I understood every line, every word they choked back. If I were to describe this play, I would say it was like when you had the perfect word on the tip of your tongue, and someone else says the word, and your mind is suddenly illuminated with the knowledge that yes, that was exactly the word you were looking for and you felt you knew it all along. Beautiful, raw, true, real, and painful are word for this musical.... full review

This is simply an amazing show! SEE IT!!! Truly one of the best I've seen this year. The cast, writing, direction, singing, energy, everything is incredible. Takes you on a crazy roller coaster of laughter, tears, anger and most of all, reflection. I've been thinking a ton about my high school days since seeing it. A fellow patron said immediately after that every high school kid in the country should see this show. I agree and I feel like every adult should as well. Congratulations you guys! I'm proud to have met all of you and amazed at what you've done here!... full review

This musical was surprising in many ways. First, it was surprising how funny it was. It was surprising how touching it was. It was surprising how good it was. It was surprising how clearly dedicated everyone involved was in it's tight execution. Generation Me is just a really good, and very important, piece of theatre that you should make an effort to get to while you can. While it was technically nearly 3 hours long, it certainly didn't feel that long. I'd like to see it again.... full review

You know the feeling you get when you have discovered something great that few people know about…that is the feeling I had seeing the new original musical -- Generation Me. I laughed and I cried and I laughed again. Generation Me and their incredibly talented young (very young) cast took me on an emotional roller coaster that I would love to ride again. They have something here both in the story they tell and the fresh young teenagers who share it that makes you feel the emotional highs and lows of high school life while giving you a very raw view of teen suicide. Can't wait to see this production evolve and see where some of these kids go with their many talents. Almost forgot to mention -- the music and lyrics were also fantastic!... full review

This show was amazing! You can never be too sure about a show full of high school age actors, but these were definitely the best of the best! It was a long show, over two hours, and it kept my attention the entire time! A fabulous mix of sadness and humor. Very emotional! I would recommend this show to everyone! Definitely a show you don't want to miss! ... full review
