No one has practiced the Mysteries of Persephone in over 1500 years and the old gods are beyond upset. As anyone can see, the world is in utter chaos. It used to be that once a year the people of Greece would re-enact the myth of Persephone in a ritual known as the Eleusinian Mysteries that according to Cicero “taught men how to live and also how to die.”
To set the stage, Persephone, a young Greek Goddess has gone missing. She was picking flowers one day when she disappeared. Demeter, her mother, is beside herself with grief and keeps the world in perpetual winter until Persephone is returned. Suspicions abound that the underworld’s most eligible bachelor, Hades is to blame. Audience members will help Demeter find her lost daughter in a journey that melds LARP, immersive theater, ritual re-enactment, and ancient esoteric practices to bring about a transformative experience for those brave souls and ardent seekers willing to explore the mysteries.
This June, journey to the underworld!
