What I liked

Acne Scars had a beautiful, complete story. It followed a journey from self-hatred and shame to self-love and acceptance. Adam did an incredible job portraying all the different characters—each one felt unique. It was engaging from beginning to end. By the finale, I even got emotional. When he looked straight into my eyes and said that God loves me, it really touched me.

What I didn't like

Mountain People, on the other hand, didn’t quite grab me. The beginning was fascinating and full of promise—a childhood story about imaginary friends (or whatever they were), loneliness, and the way children see the world. It felt lively and authentic. But after the character graduated from school, I got lost. By the end, the only thing I understood was that the author was tired of his children. I’m sure that wasn’t the intended message, so I think that scene could have been presented more clearly. Still, the ending was sweet and heartfelt. And the young girl—I’m assuming she was the daughter of the author and actress—was fantastic. She has an amazing sense of rhythm and moves beautifully.

My overall impression

Overall, it was a very interesting show. The first half had great energy and moved at a fast pace, while the second half slowed down a bit and felt a little too long. Even so, I really enjoyed it, and I’m glad I went to see these solo performances.
