What I liked
Kelly really sold this show, by being earnest throughout (even in scenes with a stuffed rat)- this only elevated this comedy and highlighted how ambitious and hopeful ‘Rosie’ was. Also, the SINGING was unreal! I will never listen to ON MY OWN the same way again!
What I didn't like
I would have loved a bit more use of the stage/ theatre! (Mostly just a sight line technical note, with stage level seating. I was able to lean in more as an audience member when the whole stage was utilized in big numbers with multiple vantage points!)
My overall impression
This one is for all the deep-cut theatre kids out there, who love a laugh. Mixing in a bizarre storyline from famous moments from ‘Gypsy,’ ‘Chicago,’ and ‘Sunset Boulevard,’ I was completely blown away- while having a truly wonderful time.
