Come to the Cabaret.. Oh yes Karen starts off with a burst of energy . so alive and what a voice. She sure can sing, but even better she can act and brings so many levels to the songs. She very cleverly combines the stories with the songs . She also creates and embodies her characters. She is so personable. One just likes her right way. ...

Karen is a diva with vulnerability. In her show, she displays a powerful set of pipes that can also convey new nuance and emotion of many beloved Broadway tunes, a story full of surprises—happy and sad—and a warm personality that will have you wanting to dish with her after the show. ...

Karen's performance was beautifully vulnerable and heartfelt! She has a wonderful voice and the songs she performed were perfect for the very personal story she was telling, which I found incredibly relatable. There were some good laughs that made the emotional moments that much more touching. I really enjoyed the show!...

To say that Karen Macarah is a triple threat is an understatement. Her amazing voice, so crystal clear and vibrant, was a thing to behold in the sold out audience. The subject matter of her cabaret was also very universal for anyone that has ever felt less than, or out of place either on stage, or off. Karen is a gifted writer, singer and performer. You will leave her show feeling inspired and uplifted. ...

Karen told the story of her life with honesty, emotion, humor and magnificent song. She taught an important lesson about body shape and resistance to the idea that all women must be skinny. It is important to accept who you are, what you look like and enjoy your talent....

Karen Macarah has plenty of stories to tell, not all of them bright and cheery, but if anyone knows the secret sauce of cabaret, its roots are always much darker than one first expects. "The Dysmorphic Diva" is Ms. Macarah's tell-all about our excruciatingly thin modern world, her own bout with body dysmorphia and the tragic loss of her very young mother. Sporting one hell of a belt, Karen Macarah shares her personal story through her "angel" and "devil" and through some terrific song choices, including numbers often pointedly set apart for the ingénue. ...
