Mariano Maravilla is a twenty something working in a panadería named after this late mother with coworker, Xolo. But there is a problem. Xolo is the prince to a land known as Pueblokán, the Land of the Dead, and had been sent to protect the Living.. Mariano, plagued with loneliness, grief, and aimlessness, sums it up to a generational flaw in his brain, but it all changes when he encounters a dark shadowy serpent hungry for his soul. With the help of Xolo, they uncover truths of their town, and their own lives, finding answers as to why their connection has always felt oddly familiar. Fate tests them, and asks, can they escape the ending designed for them?
