“Theater to pull at your heartstrings.” – Nina Kremer, LA Magazine
“A thoroughly unique, entertaining, and HIGHLY melodramatic soap opera (in a good way) comedy” – Edward Hong, Nerds of Color
“A tremendous ensemble cast backed with some sharp comedic writing” – Edward Hong, Nerds of Color
“This show is a must-see at Fringe this year.”
“Don’t miss this!!”
“Adriana’s writing is a force. She’s hilarious, heartfelt, and courageous. There is something achingly beautiful about a show that is this earnest, and demonstrates what it is to want so desperately to be good, and right, and liked, and loved. I left wanting to watch this show again and again, and to talk about it with the people I love.”
“Wedding Party is a TREAT. This show leads with heart and is unapologetically vulnerable, exciting to watch, and cinematic –– it’s like watching an intelligent, funny, feel-good Netflix movie in real time.”
“A simultaneous look at the complexity of female friendships and their break-ups, as well as hope in what healthy partnerships and friendships might look like.”
"It would be great for more men to watch this show to get an idea of what a realistically supportive partner could look like."
“Unapologetically girl-coded.”
“It can be easy to fall into a trap of creating one-dimensional side characters for the main protagonist to project her feelings onto, and this experienced cast and well-written play avoided that pitfall entirely.”
"Getting to see Adriana’s work after last years debut was such a joy. You can see how thoughtfully her work has evolved. Her ability to capture raw, authentic emotions from the characters really immerse you in the show throughout. She always has an eye for casting."
“I really enjoyed the layered writing that was highlighted by the fantastic cast.”
“The lead Arianna Williams was an incredible actress. Killed it.”
"The lead of the show was phenomenal."
"Arianna Williams as well as Ryan Jaske’s performances were particularly stand-out.The audience was audibly affected by their chemistry as well as Ximena’s pain and heartbreak as she sought reconciliation with her former friends."
“The central couple have a great chemistry that had the audience really rooting for them.”
“The cast overall was so strong.”
“Good, straightforward play. Cute, entertaining.”
— THE WEDDING —
Wedding Party (Or, Why You Should Not Invite Former Friends To Your Wedding), is a charming and bittersweet romantic dramedy making its World Premiere at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Ximena is getting married to the perfect man in her dream wedding in a freaking castle in the South of France. Everything is exactly what she’s dreamed of since she was a little girl and yet… not everything is perfect because four key people in Ximena’s life are missing: Sandy, her best friend from high school, Citlali, her former roommate, Mariana and Gabriela, her girl squad from her 20’s. Ximena wishes they could all be part of her bridal party so she embarks on a journey to rekindle these relationships and heal the wounds that drove them apart.
The hilarious and heartbreaking 90-minutes dramedy tackles female friendship break ups, which – as any woman can attest – are more painful and harder to get over than romantic breakups.
Through quippy dialogue and funny, unexpected twists and true emotion, the play dives deep into platonic love, romantic love and the greatest love of all, self-love.
— THE BRIDAL PARTY —
Off-Broadway’s Eco Village’s Arianna Williams and newcomer Ryan Jaske (E4 Mafia) star as Ximena and her fiancé Jason, with Daniela Azuaje (AMC’s “Mayans MC”) as “Sandy”; Jocelyn Marie (Amazon’s Jason Katims series “As We See It") as “Citali”, Rocio Ibarra (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6) as “Mariana”; and newcomer Carlie Meyers as “Gabriela”.
Written and directed by award-winning playwright and former Netflix and CBS development exec, Adriana Martínez Barrón, winner, second place, 2025 Loud Karma Emerging Women and Nonbinary Playwright’s Award for her show “I Hope You’re Having Fun In Hell, Dad)”.
