Ghosts of the Essex tells the story of three men who survived the sinking of the Nantucket-based whale ship Essex in 1820, examining the state of their lives 25 years after the incident, as they struggle with PTSD, and the grief, guilt, and rage that continues to consume them, and the spirits that haunt their waking lives. With a musical score that is rooted in the life of sailors at sea, come experience their trauma, anger, and despondence, as they learn to find hope in the unlikeliest of hauntings.
