A Beautifully Unsettling, Funny, and Deeply Human Night of Theatre I saw Stefan Marks’ My One Woman Show last night, and I’m still thinking about it. Stefan has such a unique ability to take you from irreverent comedy into much darker, deeper places without ever losing the audience. The show starts in one place and slowly reveals something far more vulnerable, surprising, and unexpectedly moving - all while keeping it funny, strange and full of wonder. He brings you right into the emotional depth of the piece, but never in a way that feels heavy-handed. There is humor, honesty, tenderness and that strange space where you can laugh and feel heartbroken at the same time. It’s a beautiful, brave, deeply human piece from a truly orig... full review

Besides having THE MOST ICONIC title of all shows at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival- MY ONE WOMAN SHOW- was entertaining, hilarious, moving, heartbreaking… all the things you want in an hour ride at the theatre. Stefan Marks is a master of the crafts of storytelling and acting. I LOVED IT. ... full review

Very moving and funny. Very moving. I walked away feeling the emotional impact of the writing and performance. Smart writing, funny writing. Unique and energized performance that made me think of a young, coked-out Bill Murray. Multi-dimensional journey I did not see coming and would recommend to anyone. ... full review

“My One Woman Show” not only had complex and unique story and character arcs that kept me thinking/guessing the first 3/4 of the way through the performance, but paid off these themes and narrative in the back 1/4-in a way I didn’t see coming. Vastly entertaining and moving in its emotion and scope of his character. 10 out of 10…... full review

This is the rare show that feels like it was taking us on a delightfully aimless journey but then punched us in the heart with its poignant ending that it was leading you to the whole time. Stefan lets us ride shotgun through his personal discovery, displaying one emotional misdirection after another, until we finally arrive at his bittersweet conclusion. Try and get a ticket if you can. You will not be disappointed. ... full review

This was one of the best shows I've seen at any time - certainly the best one-person show. Stefan's mind is so mercurial and fascinating, and it's on full display the whole time. It's hilariously meta - fourth wall anybody? We watch him change before our eyes from a trickster and joker, imperceptibly becoming more vulnerable, till by the end I was crying uncontrollably watching him. Will he play that guitar? Will we get to hear him sing?... full review
