What I liked
The music is special and the performers elevate the songs to another level. Their voices blended beautifully and each person gets “Their moment”. I was blown away. The lighting moved with the emotions of the piece and Jimi had us in the palm of his hands from his entrance.
What I didn't like
There was some crackling mic issues – but that’s just the venue. I think I’d have focused more on the creativity of the superhero structure in the script rather than some of the repetition? However, alcoholism IS repetitive and I get that. So I think it’s more of a different choice than “improvement”. Basically, I’d love to see this show with a bigger budget and getting explore the superhero stuff more. This is very nit-picky cause it was a rock your socks off show.
My overall impression
I’ve seen about 15 shows at fringe so far this year and this is the strongest show I’ve seen yet. The vocals, the harmonies, the energy and commitment… 5 STARS!
