Keena is undoubtedly talented. She is a beautiful dancer and a passionate actor. That said, the material in the show felt like anecdotes strung together haphazardly. This lack attention to story or at least unifying theme of the piece left me feeling confused about why she was doing and saying what she was doing and saying (other than as a showcase). It really did a disservice to some of the more serious parts of the show. For example, (spoiler alert) she shared her obviously excruciating pain of losing a loved one, but as an audience it was the first we'd heard of this person. A little work with a dramaturg would have lifted this show from uneven and allowed the audience to go with her on a journey.... full review

'Keena: Unbranded (The Solo Experience)' was truly a great piece of art! This is a show I'd recommend anyone to see and would happily see again. Keena brought over 10 amazingly distinctive characters to life (male and female) right before our eyes, without one change of costume, baring her soul in a captivating story that expertly weaved together the essence of who she is. With great acting and immense physicality, Keena took us on a journey thru sexual experiences, Laker Girl try-outs, the death of a family member, the Hollywood shuffle, abortion and much more. She punctuated her piece with expressive moments of interpretive dance, which she executed with trained skill and grace. After we'd laughed, sighed, shook our heads and cried, the pi... full review

Keena Ferguson bares her soul to the audience in this powerful self-bio that is both entertaining and moving at the same time. She takes on everything from childhood memories to the struggles of an actor in Hollywood to deeply personal experiences that have collectively formed and defined who she truly is, an original. Collectively, the various segments are woven together with emotional dance pieces. Sometimes, the most powerful way to convey emotion is to say nothing. Keena's dance movements speak volumes. Joy, pain, anger and pleasure fly across the stage in these expressive physical moments. I'm a tough critic, but will point out when someone or something rises to the challenge and moves me. To that end, I'd recommend folks find the t... full review

This show has been on my to-do list since the beginning of Fringe. When I met writer/performer/dancer Keena Ferguson, I was simply taken in by her beauty, her humor and her personality, and knew I had to see this show. Keena is a force to be reckoned with, as she took us on an incredible journey through the art of music, dance, poetry and storytelling, to arrive at a critical juncture where reality finally meets up with understanding. ... full review

I have seen 10 shows at the Fringe so far and this show is my favorite. Keena goes for it in her one woman show. Truthful, inspiring, universal, and liberating. I am thankful not only that I got to see the show, but more so that this young woman shared a part of herself on that stage.... full review

Tale after tale of life gone wrong, strung together by no common thread. The performer spent very little time in her own point of view and didn't reveal much about her own flaws, weaknesses or deepest desires. She focused instead on the bad people and external circumstances around her, making it difficult for me to relate and connect with her. Talented woman, but not my thing.... full review
