What I liked

In South Africa we have parties after funerals, and this show felt like a celebration and reclaiming of life.

Going in, you were already psychologically prepared for the potential of crying… and as an African man, I generally schedule my tears sparingly. So the fact that this show had me crying says alot.

I loved the creative execution of this piece. Staging was simple and effecting. (I loved the magical drawers and the explanation of said drawers. The Props flying around everywhere was perfect for the state of her being but also the continuation of a ever flowing plot) The use of music was really fun (The musical theater moment just fit in so well, the guitar as the mothers voice was effecting and the other sound scape used to bring this show to life just pulled on the emotions of the audience. I guess, the sound of our own sniffles helped too)

Lastly, im a sucker for being fed… so the brownie was the perfect funeral dessert.

What I didn't like

Because I cannot submit without adding anything here, I really sat and thought about this, and all I could conjure, is the spreadsheet taking up the whole projector screen.

My overall impression

Creativity, vulnerability and Ability that has been waiting for its turn to shine for so long that the light immited has the audience immersed in it, but is also just so bright that you will cry.
