This show constantly surprises you by changing its shape all the time. Rachel is such a gifted performer. She really can do absolutely everything, and you don’t want it to end. Shayne’s direction is so deft; the show really sings (and of course Rachel actually really sings).

My overall impression
To sit in this show is to be aware of just how close you are to grief all the time. You can feel it in the way the entire audience holds its breath, in the sounds of people choking back tears next to you, in a loud and knowing laugh from behind you about how bad your parents’ taste is in television. That is the power of Rachel Austin’s show. I can’t recommend it enough.
