Rachel Austin is wildly talented and so fun to watch. Her brilliantly unique show is both hilarious and emotional — a very personal-yet-universal take on grief, losing the person you love most in the world, and trying to piece together what’s next. Peppered with music & magic and anchored by Rachel’s electric, authentic presence with the audience — The Do Over is an absolute treasure....

Wow. This show blew me away. I was crying one moment and then laughing through the tears the next moment. It was an emotional roller coaster in the best sort of way. Rachel is so vulnerable, honest, and funny. The way she flipped grief on its head was so refreshing. Run, don’t walk. And bring tissues. ...

The Do Over blew me away. I went to support my friend, assuming it’d be a laugh. I did not expect to cry multiple times AND laugh. I hope the next showings provide tissue boxes at every seat - I don’t think a single person got through the show without sniffling. What a testament to grief and life and family. When they talk about putting yourself into your art, Rachel listened. I implore you to see this show. ...

To sit in this show is to be aware of just how close you are to grief all the time. You can feel it in the way the entire audience holds its breath, in the sounds of people choking back tears next to you, in a loud and knowing laugh from behind you about how bad your parents' taste is in television. That is the power of Rachel Austin's show. I can't recommend it enough....

I remember hearing that any story can be put into one of two categories: it’s either a story about love or a story about death. Rachel has pulled off something incredible by creating a show that encompasses both.
At its heart, "The Do Over" is about grief as an act of courage — a cathartic and deeply felt expression of the love we still carry for those who have passed.
I strongly recommend that people check it out at this year’s Fringe Festival. I will be recommending it to all my friends....

The Do Over is an impressive display of human expression in the extremes. Death seems to have that effect. The show begins with Rachel in pure bliss. A morning with “no puffies”, twerking, and money cash flow in reward of that twerking. (Heaven, right?)
But then reality sets in. And over the course of the next 35 minutes, the audience participates and witnesses the re-imagined events of her mother’s final day. Rachel performs everything from singing, spreadsheets and interacting with magical furniture, to cosmic visual queues that bring laughter and tears. Between Rachel’s acting capabilities and the tech/stage performance, I don’t know which aspect impressed me most. It really felt like a mini Broadway show!
I hope Rachel’s goal of “...

Oh my goodness. What an incredible show. Rachel Austin is extremely talented and the show made me laugh, cry, and be insanely impressed at this young woman's ability to take something so deeply personal and make it into therapy for not only herself but also her audience. I was so on board with the journey, and she kept me engaged from start to finish. ...
