What I liked
Top notch vocal technique from the lead performer, even while chugging a cocktail, tripping and flailing hilariously, and generally being inebriated as hell. Both performers were on the whole time, never breaking or losing energy. The accompanist snacking loudly throughout was so funny. I also loved all the fake movie titles; so historically relevant to the character’s life and super sinister.
What I didn't like
I loved some of the crowd work she did, and if there were more time I would have loved to see more of that! I thought Bezozo’s improv skills from the little we did get to see were clearly very strong, and I think that bringing even more of that to future performances would really sell this larger than life character.
My overall impression
Shayna Bezozo is a powerhouse comedian and vocalist. This show was extremely funny. Constant laughs, excellent timing and pacing, and great interactions with her “accompanist”. Both performers shined.
