What I liked
The cast does solid work across the board. Shout-out to Spencer Weitzel’s hilarious, paranoid performance that feels like the human embodiment of one too many shots of espresso. And even with all the humor, he makes the character of Roger feel like a fully-realized person we can empathize with.
What I didn't like
Some pacing issues.
My overall impression
Coffee Date turns a seemingly ordinary day into a complex weave of relationships, friendships, and sex all set against the backdrop of your favorite local coffee spot. Solid performances and unexpected twists, what a ride.
