I’ve never felt this kind of dread/discomfort in a clown show (it was intentional) and I loved it. I was on the edge of my seat for lots of scenes, and Jackie’s big laughs in character are so infectious. The surprise rapping was also extremely welcome. I was also really happy about the strong AC and not having to sweat my way through another show- Jackie you can have credit for that too.
In general, I was so impressed at how Jackie really went outside the box to add horror to clown- it works so well and it’s an incredibly unique perspective/space that she was able to explore and guide us through as a result. It makes me really excited to see this show again and to wait for whatever comes next from her brain!
What I didn't like
Nothing. Keep mentioning the AC please though, louder too for the 1000 degree venue two doors down.
My overall impression
This show was magical, hilarious, spooky and shocking in the best way. Jackie is a pro and it shows! I didn’t even think I could be scared in a clown show (well at least in the traditional way) and I was blown away by the way Jackie builds tension through sound, light, laughter, and the way she can drop in and out of character perfectly- any unexpected drama or silence she turned into hilarity without missing even the tiniest of beats. I want to see this show again to see how it evolves with each audience, and I will FORSURE be recommending it to anyone who will listen.
