Last Sunday night I had the privilege of watching Spencer Waldner’s Daddy Issues — and I left genuinely moved.
As writer, director, and performer, Spencer carries the full weight of this story, and he does so with remarkable grace. The dialogue is sharp and thought-provoking, the kind that lingers long after the lights go down.
What struck me most is the sheer bravery it takes to put something this personal on a stage. Spencer isn’t just performing — he’s inviting you into his own exploration and growth, and that vulnerability is exactly what makes it so captivating and engrossing.
If you haven’t seen Daddy Issues yet, go. If you have already had the joy of seeing this performance, go again (as I am tonight) — some stories deserve to be witnessed more than once. 👏
