As a D&D player, I enjoyed the well-staged adventure. I think it would be accessible and entertaining to non-players as well. I think every table has a Kyle for better or for worse, hilariously played by Miles. Rebekah was particularly effective as the Game Master working hard to keep this group together both in game and out. Julie’s Elle Ven broke my heart.
What I didn't like
I know pretzels are cleaner to deal with on stage, but I’ve rarely encountered a game day table devoid of Doritos or tortilla chips. (That may be because I enjoy Doritos, and hosting games gives me a reason to buy them.)
My overall impression
Solid portrayal of a fantasy gaming friend group both in game and around the table. Trey has written an engaging and thought-provoking script, well played by his cast. Fun to see the double layers of character and player interactions as they navigate the adventure and the dumpster fire of our current political environment.
