Loved the use of D&D as the way to explore group dynamics and politics. Clever and witty. The characters were also well-defined individuals, although at certain moments, I did wish the characters were better fleshed out beyond their political perspective.
What I didn't like
As the story devolved into the straight-political conversation, the script strayed into feeling overly-didactic. Would have loved to have seen the overall thesis of the piece embodied in the actions of the characters instead of simply witnessing character debate their perspective.
My overall impression
A clever examination of our political moment and perils of the compromise needed to ensure societal progress, all through the lens of a friendly game of D&D. A thought-provoking and enjoyable watch.
