A taut, richly layered one-act that stays with you long after the curtain falls. Think M. Night Shyamalan brought to life on a bare stage, building tension that at first puzzles, then clicks into place through a series of reveals that are equal parts disturbing and deeply satisfying. A fascinating, accomplished piece of work.... full review

It is rare that I notice the direction and writing of a play first. The dialogue was sharp, witty and had a beautiful rhythm. The direction helped the team utilize the space and what a reveal! This piece was so beautiful and charming and necessary. It skewed modern tropes to let in new perspectives. As a Black audience member, it felt like a discussion made for me. Congratulations to this team. The play felt lived in. ... full review

An excellent, spooky glimpse into a family dynamic where conflict exists, but not at the expense of love and empathy. Balancing that is a delicacy not often seen. Gorgeous performances and excellent story.... full review

I first heard about White Lilies from the director of another Fringe show, who gave it a glowing endorsement during his curtain speech. After seeing it for myself, I can confidently say the praise was well deserved. The play follows a writer, who receives an unexpected visit from his brother. What begins as a simple reunion quickly unfolds into something far more complex, exploring themes of family, parenthood, and more. As the conversations deepen, layers are peeled back and the audience is drawn into a world filled with surprises, revelations, and emotional complexity. Highly recommended! ... full review

White Lilies is a creative and heartfelt look into the human psyche and relationships. Rush is a wonderful writer and is able to capture a broad number of themes within a short amount of time. I look forward to whatever he has to say next. He has a bright storytelling career ahead of him, no doubt.... full review

Hold onto your lilies folks, this one will shake you. The script - clever and disarming - hooks you from the beginning and never lets go. By the time it's over you're left in a stage of shock. You'll replay the entire experience in your mind to reexamine things knowing what you know now. I dig a show that takes big swings like this, and White Lilies swings for the fences. It's the kind of theater that Fringe exists to champion. The actors, facing a very high level of difficulty, rose to the challenge and delivered convincing, heartfelt performances. Kudos across the board.... full review

Absolutely loved White Lillies. Incredible performances by all three actors and beautifully written dialogue. I was immediately drawn in by the dynamic between the two brothers, and could not have anticipated what was coming! The play is both subtle and striking, tense and light, and all the spaces in between. My friends and I were talking about thinking about White Lillies for the entire evening! I highly recommend catching the next show and I will keep an eye on what’s next for these actors and Rush Z! ... full review

WHITE LILIES is a powerful, highly-intellectual *and* emotional drama that packs a punch. Rush's instincts for what makes a story "a play" are here in every layer: two-person, moment-to-moment work; spectacle and magic; and intricate staging choices that dramaturgically affect both moment-to-moment work and magic. I highly recommend this play, and wish that this team soars high. If the Fringe festival is intended to be a place to take risks, WHITE LILIES - superbly acted and crafted - is a true example of what is intended and possible. ... full review
