A masterful mindfuck of a playwriting debut. Covarrubias writes with a whip-smart voice and a stages Alps, Adieu! with a gorgeous visual language. She uses every inch of the stage well and buries her Chekhov's guns so masterfully that you'll repeatedly laugh too hard to noice the shit about to hit the fan. This piece has the high-velocity plot twists, almost comically specific premise, and hyperrealistic characters of an EXCELLENT film.
