About the Project

El Paso, TX. 1969. La Luna Street. The U.S. has just landed on the moon. Consequently, in the barrios of El Paso, Texas a dream has been sparked in Rey Mendoza. It’s the impossible dream of a young Mexican American: to become an astronaut. After his father is arrested, Rey is expected to lead the Luna Street gang, something he has never been interested in. Forced to pick between dream and destiny. Alongside his friends and family, Rey must make a decision to change his life forever.

PARKING NOTE

Parking at The Eastwood PAC can be a little tricky. We recommend arriving an hour before show time to give yourself enough time to find parking, get your concessions, and settle into your seats. Paid parking is available at 1110 N Western & 5250 Santa Monica Blvd.

WHERE:

The Eastwood PAC – 1089 N Oxford Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90029. In the Playhouse Paradiso!

PARKING:

You can find an open spot on the street; if not, there are some metered parking spots on Western or Santa Monica Blvd. Because of our performance times, you may only need to pay for one hour! PAID Parking is available at 1110 N Western and on 5250 Santa Monica Blvd

SNACKS:

The Eastwood PAC has a collection of snacks and drinks (alcoholic and NA) available at their concession booths. NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK IS PERMITTED.

SEATING:

While tickets have been bought, seating is first-come, first-served, so if you have a large group and would like to sit together, I recommend arriving early. With that being said, due to the nature of Fringe and our show, LATE ENTRY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. Please note that there are no refunds from us, as you will have to take it up with Fringe.

TRIGGER WARNING:

While Rey De La Luna shows the beauty of El Paso and Chicano culture, there are elements to the story that may be triggering to some. Violence and sexual assault are not something we take lightly and want to let you know about these themes being involved in our show. Our Director has ensured our entire cast and crew feel safe and we want to make sure you do as well while watching.

PLEASE NOTE:

While the run time listed is 90min, we’ve found our show timed at 105 minutes. Something we’ve worked out with the venue and our team, but want to make sure everyone attending is aware of as well. We understand people have other Fringe shows, and might need to leave ours early to attend to. In that case, we understand and will make sure you’re allowed to exit when needed.

Thank you again! Excited for everyone to see the show! It’s going to be a beautiful night under the stars with the residents of La Luna street.
